Reflecting on his appointment, Edward stated: “I'm privileged to join the SCL Cybersecurity Group Committee at such a critical time for the sector. Cybersecurity is no longer a niche issue, it’s a central legal, operational and strategic challenge for every organization. I'm looking forward to contributing to the Group's work and helping shape the conversation around law and digital risk."

Edward brings deep expertise in cyber risk, regulatory strategy and digital crisis response. At CyXcel, he leads on complex cybersecurity engagements, helping organizations anticipate, manage and recover from cyber incidents, combining legal, technical and operational perspectives into a holistic risk approach. His appointment to the SCL Committee reflects his standing as a thought leader at the intersection of cybersecurity and the law.

Fiona Phillips, Chair of the Committee and Specialist Lawyer – AI, Cybersecurity, Data and Digital Assets at UBS, commented: "I’m thrilled (and a little in awe) to chair the Cybersecurity and Law Committee for the Society for Computers and Law. We’re lucky to be joining together some of the sharpest, most experienced minds working at the intersection of cybersecurity and the law. Our Group includes rockstars of the cybersecurity legal world - lawyers, technologists and thought leaders who are shaping how we think about digital risk, resilience and law."

The Committee is already working on several initiatives, including its first major event, the SCL Cybersecurity Conference, and a dedicated cybersecurity edition of Computers and Law Magazine. To find out more about the Committee and to see the full list of appointments, visit the SCL website.
